'The Sims 4' News and Updates: New 'City Living' Expansion Pack Brings Apartment Traits and Neighbors to the Mix
When thinking about life simulation games, "The Sims" franchise seems to be the first, if not only, game that actually comes to mind. Now on its fourth iteration, the beloved video game franchise just keeps getting better and better with every release - and now, with expansion packs.
"The Sims 4 City Living"
Electronic Arts seems to have mastered the formula of a great life simulator game. With the third expansion pack for "The Sims 4", the publisher brings "City Living" into the hands of the player. The trailer clip for the expansion pack had just been released and interesting details have been revealed regarding apartments and other gameplay features.
"The Sims 4 City Living" expansion pack has seen its official apartments trailer released by EA. The clip gave the players a quick look at the all new city apartment lifestyle, along with the additional apartment traits and various other new items such as clothing, furniture, and character hairstyles.
New Apartment Traits
As per every "The Sims" game, players are given the chance to choose specific traits for their Sim characters. This choosing method would then be applied to several apartment traits too, through the new "The Sims 4 City Living" expansion pack. The latest apartment traits will then have an impact to a Sim character's way of living.
"The Sims 4 City Living" expansion pack will be bringing a new world with a city theme to be called San Myshuno. The trailer clip also skimmed through the mentioned apartment traits. These include the Romantic Aura trait, the Good Schools trait (for Sims that are family oriented), a Home Studio trait (for the artists), a Filthy trait (for obvious reasons), and a lot more.
Neighborhood, Restricted Mode, and Release
The official website of "The Sims" also issued a statement detailing more features that could be expected from "The Sims 4 City Living" expansion pack. Due to the nature of the living quarters being an apartment, the players' Sim characters would naturally have neighbors.
This neighborhood interaction entails both advantages and disadvantages to "The Sims 4" players. Being in a small apartment community, some neighbors are bound to be noisy, some roommates may be quirky, the Sim character may encounter strange landlords, and the occasional dreaded faulty apartment plumbing and electrical wiring.
However, there would also be a limited apartment build mode, which will also be included in "The Sims 4 City Living" expansion pack. This would then restrict the player from expanding the allowable size of the apartment. It will also prevent the player from changing the placement of the front door, the windows, the electrical box, and the plumbing pipes.
"The Sims 4 City Living" will be coming to both Mac and PC on November 4.
