'The Strain' season 2 episode 7 recap: character Quinlan enters series, Rupert Penry-Jones to play the role
"The Strain" season 2 episode 6 has aired and it left fans stunned with the deaths of Eph's friends. But many more events are still to take place in the storyline of the series including the arrival of Quinlan who is one of the fan-favorite characters from the original trilogy of books "The Strain."
It can be remembered from the sixth episode that Quinlan told the ancients that he planned to capture the Master. He also inquired about the names of the vampire hunters who have the ability to roam freely during broad daylight. Fans were given a glimpse of what they could expect in the next episode.
As seen on the teaser video and photos in International Business TImes, Mr. Quinlan finally meets ace vampire hunters Setrakian (David Bradley) and Fet (Kevin Durand) face to face. They share war stories about their encounters with the Master (Robin Atkin) over the years. Quinlan tells the two that the Master now has a new form and that they were presently in the Master's base. The Master (now Jack Kesy) is also in the building. A fierce standoff occurs where they confront the Master in his new body. Unfortunately, the Master is able to escape.

Fans are already looking forward to knowing more about the new character which will be played by actor Rupert Penry-Jones. The actor spoke to The Hollywood Report regarding his role as Quinlan. According to the source, Penry-Jones felt the pressure of playing a character that is well loved in the books. He is also revealed to be replacing a previous character that came before him.
"The pressure really comes from the guy who ends up being Vaun," shared Penry-Jones, "because he was my favorite character on the show and when they told me they were replacing him."
When Stephen McHattie was introduced in the first season of the show as Vaun, fans who followed the books thought that he was Quinlan. But it turned out that Vaun was a made-for-TV character who suddenly vanished a few weeks ago. The character's departure from the show paved way for the real Quinlan to enter.
Fans will get to know more about Quinlan on "The Strain", Sundays at 10 p.m. on FX.
