'The Strain' Season 3 Premiere Episode Recap and Spoilers; Eph To Make A Deal With The Master To Free His Son
"The Strain" premiered its first episode with an explosive start. It is anticipated that Episode 2 will continue the action and excitement that was initiated by the first scene.

New York City was almost taken over by The Master/Gabriel Bolivar (Jack Kesy)and his army. Dr. Ephraim "Eph" Goodweather (Corey Stoll) was waiting for his son Zack (Max Charles in their old home.

Eph had been worried that his son might be destroyed and had been converted into a strigoi by The Master along with his vampire wife Kelly (Natalie Brown). The dilemma centers on the threat of death for Eph's son. Even though the demands are way off course, Eph would accept the deal despite the cost.
What To Expect
"The Strain" Season 3 will have Eph considering the offer in his desperation. This will mean that he will have to steal the Lumen from Setrakain (David Bradley) and Quinlan (Rupert-Penry Jones). It would not be an easy feat for Eph since Setrakian and Quinlan are the ones assigned to guard the book.
Season 3 will also give an update on Dutch Velders (Ruta Gedmintas) who happens to be Vasiliy Fet's (Kevin Durand) old lover. Dutch will also reunite with old friends and will eventually question if she is safer with them or with Fet, Eph and Setrakian.
Episode 2 of the third season also hints that Palmer (Jonathan Hyde) has found a way to get the secret of the strigoi blood treatments from Setrakian. Palmer also had a deal with The Master but unlike Eph he will have greater chances in getting the blood treatment.

In the meantime, Councilwoman Justine Feraldo (Samantha Mathis) and her staff seem to act differently. Based on the teaser video, those present in the headquarters have been infected by a strigoi that was able to make its way through into the place. Given the circumstances, it remains indefinite on whether Feraldo would survive the threat or not.
Based on the first episode of the series, all the main characters were given the chance to shine with their own roles. Moreover, Episode 2 is projected to center solely on Eph and his move to ensure the life of his son. If all of the speculations materialize, it will surely shift the tide against Eph and his son.
For the fans and followers of the series, "The Strain" Season 2 Episode 2 will air on September 4, 2016.
