'The Surge' Expansion News: RPG to Get New DLC this December

A major expansion is coming to Deck13's hardcore action role-playing game, "The Surge."

Publisher Focus Home Interactive has recently announced the big plans they have for the RPG. According to Gematsu, a new downloadable content (DLC) will soon be available. Called "A Walk in the Park," this DLC will be up for download in early December as part of the "The Surge: Complete Edition." Based on the overview released, it will feature the CREO World, an amusement park built for the employees and their families. Players should be aware, though, that the colorful domain hides a deadly side.

Just like in the high-tech CREO industrial complex, machines and rogue AIs will abound the park, as well as rescue teams who have gone "insane." Those who will explore the place will be involved in technical fights while tapping on the 16 all-new weapons and sets of armor. Winners will get the opportunity to upgrade and customize their equipment. "A Walk in the Park" is said to be quite a challenge even to the most hardcore players, offering an enriched experience of the original game.

"CREO World presents a wealth of fresh challenges for players. Originally built to celebrate CREO and its mission, the park is a radically different setting from the rest of the complex, full of branching paths and secrets to discover. Survive the raging mascots and explore the park's attractions, before taking on a fearsome boss in the devastated park," the DLC description reads.

PlayStation Lifestyle reports that the expansion is going to be a "fully fleshed out add-on." There is going to be a new boss to take down. The park will also feature several attractions that will prove too deadly for the players. The DLC will be released alongside the new complete edition of "The Surge," which includes the full game and all the expansions. Focus Home Interactive has not released any pricing yet to the package.

"The Surge" is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
