The Underground Christian Night Club Announces Grand Opening
Starting Friday night, teens in the Cincinnati, Ohio area will be able to be part of the Christian alternative to the secular bar or club scene when The Underground, a Christian-based night club opens its doors. Although costs going into purchasing and renovating the building, which will be the new home for a Christian music video show, have totaled over $1 million, the clean environment is expected to be even more valuable.
The club, which welcomes Christians and non-Christians, was originally expected to open during Memorial weekend but has announced its grand opening on June 4, starting at 8 p.m. and ending at 1 a.m. It will also be opened every Friday and Saturday with prospects of opening the club nightly.
Popular Christian bands have already begun booking the club for dates throughout the year. Jeremy Camp, Sanctus Real & Seven Places will be performing on August 21. O.C Supertones and Superchick, on “The Super Tour” have booked the stage for Sept. 17 followed by Pillar, Project 86, Falling Up & Subseven appearing on Oct. 22.

The Underground has become a ministry of non-profit Victory Video Ministries, which operates “The Zone”, a music video show that airs on 200 channels worldwide. The club and music production merged last summer with a hope that a new culture of good values would be born.
"I believe God brought us together," said President of Victory Videos' Board of Directors Tony Maas, who is also the president of JTM Food Group, one of the sponsors of the club. "I believe a lot of society's problems are being driven by a lack of morality from the media and entertainment industry.”
Tickets at the door will be $7 and attendants need to be 16 years of age or older. The club is located in a 12,600-sq.-foot building on 1140 Smiley Avenue in Cincinnati.
