'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 Recap: Stefan's First Love Wasn't Katherine
Some scandalous details about Stefan's past were revealed in the most recent episode of "The Vampire Diaries."
It was revealed that Stefan, played by Paul Wesley, was with another woman before he met Katherine, played by Nina Dobrev. Episode 3 of "The Vampire Diaries" explained that Stefan had slept with a Heretic during a time when they were both humans.
The past episode showed Lily and Stefan discussing the past, specifically about Valerie, played by Elizabeth Blackmore. It was revealed that Valerie told Caroline, played by Candice King, that she was the first love of Stefan. There were also flashbacks shown of Valerie flirting with Stefan.

Valerie then revealed that she was the one who took Stefan's virginity. She tells Caroline, "I'm sure you've been someone's first so you know what's it like to have a completely unforgettable place in someone's mind." Stefan then shared that Valerie had broken his heart when she sent him a telegram that she will return. However, she never showed up at the place they were supposed to meet, despite her promise that she will find her way back to Stefan.
The episode then showed Lily using her blood in order to save Valerie when she had killed herself after losing her baby. That then illustrated the first appearance of a Heretic.
Meanwhile, Damon, played by Ian Somerhalder, was seen taking a road trip with Bonnie, played by Kat Graham, and Alaric. While they try to find more information about Lily, it was revealed that they will also try to find ways to preserve Elena's body. With that, there was also a discussion of the Phoenix stone, which will set the tone for the rest of the season.
