At the end of the previous season, Lily and her family arrived at Mystic Falls, but they will only stir up trouble in the town. In the seventh season, Stefan and Damon will strike a deal with their mother and her clan. The brothers will agree to give Mystic Falls to their mother and drive the humans out. Lily will use the town as venue for training her children to blend in with humans, but they will not like the training, Christian Today reports.

In the season 6 finale, the town was left in a state of ruins, while Damon looked on. Caroline will also run into a lot of problems upon the return of the series as she will begin to think that giving the town to the newcomers is a huge mistake. But Stefan tells Damon that it is too late now because they have already sealed the deal, based on the trailer released on Friday.

Bonnie, who is alive after all, will also have her own problems in The Vampire Diaries season 7. Her best friend is just asleep, but she will experience survivor's remorse. However, she will try to fight the feeling because she does not want to be punished for surviving, and will vow to try to destroy the evil forces. She will accompany Damon and Alaric as the two grieve over their own losses, the report relays.

The Vampire Diaries season 7 will air on Oct. 8 on The CW.
