'The Vampire Diaries' star Nina Dobrev to Make a Cameo in 'The Originals' Episode 5 of Season 2

"The Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev will be making a guest appearance on the television show "The Originals" on episode 5 of their second season.

"The Vampire Diaries" co-stars Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder had ended their relationship earlier this year which made for an awkward and tense atmosphere while filming. While the two have tried keeping it professional, Somerhalder had struck a new relationship with "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed and has been dating her for a few months.

The pair's constant and open public display of affection has been making Dobrev uncomfortable to the point that she threatened to leave the show, according to Celebrity Dirty Laundry. Her resignation from the show is unlikely, however, as "The Vampire Diaries" is already on its last season and Dobrev leaving would deal a fatal blow to the premiere of the series.

Still, Dobrev's scenes with Somerhalder are severely limited and this might have been on purpose to prevent any sort of confrontation from arising between the two.

Dobrev didn't have any issues with her crossover to "The Originals" and seems to be willing to take part.

Julie Plec, the writer and creator of both series had spoken about Dobrev's cameo in "The Originals."

"There was a character's name introduced a long time ago in season three in association with Klaus and Elijah and how they became vampires and a girl that they both loved a long time ago who was the original doppelganger, Tatia. So Nina Dobrev will be visiting 'The Originals' for a nice little storyling in our fifth episode which airs November 3," Plec said.
