'The Voice' 2017: Quizz Swanigan, Lilli Passero Stolen in Battle Rounds

"The Voice" has just entered the knockout round of its 12th season on Monday, April 3, as 30 contestants vie for a slot in the live shows that will be coming soon. Among the highlights of yesterday's knockout eliminations, Quizz Swanigan and Lilli Passero are among the standouts that have made enough of an impression to warrant a steal from "The Voice" judges.

Hunter Plake and Ashley Levin might be the two most notable steals from the previous battle rounds, at least according to the International Business Times, but Swanigan and Passero are also up there among those deserving a steal from the judges.

Swanigan went up against Chris Blue as "The Voice" judge Alicia Keys pitted them against each other early on in the knockout rounds. Blue sang a rendition of Stevie Wonder's "Superstitious," bringing an interesting texture to what was otherwise an uneven performance. Blue, however, was able to raise the energy at the stage by injecting his own exciting dynamic to the song, a feat that was unmatched by Quizz. In the end, however, judge Gwen Stefani hit the steal button for Quizz, saving her for the next round.

In another bout put together by judge Keys, Ashley Levin faced off against Passero in a head-to-head battle for who gets to stay with the judge slash coach. This time, it was a decisive victory by Levin, who was also fought over by three of the judges in the preceding battle rounds. Levin did her own rendition of the song titled "Fancy," originally by Bobbie Gentry. Levin's version of the song really channeled her take on Reba McEntire's voice at several points in the performance, punctuated by some parts where she drifted into a rocker rift that kept the song grounded.

Passero, meanwhile, sang "Tears Dry on Their Own," in what could be described as one of the most subdued performances of the night. Something in her singing, however, prompted judges Adam and Blake to bid over her for a steal. Passero ultimately chose Team Adam, going to the next round, as recapped by Entertainment Weekly.
