'The Voice' to show girl power in Season 9

NBC's "The Voice" Season 9 is set to show some girl power with Selena Gomez, Gwen Stefani, Rihanna and Missy Elliot. Gwen Stefani is back as one of the four judges on the show. Selena Gomez and Missy Elliott will be guest mentors for Stefani's team and Pharrell Williams' team respectively. Rihanna will be the show's key advisor.

Selena Gomez, the 23-year-old "Good for You" singer, was a favorite backstage. According to Us Weekly, "She was surprisingly amazing as a mentor even though she's so young. She exceeded everyone's expectations."

As a child, Gomez was first seen in the children's series "Barney & Friends." She continued her rise to fame with Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place." This summer, Gomez released her latest single "Good for You" as a preview to her upcoming album "Revival," which is due for an Oct. 9 release. It looks like this will be a great fall for Gomez.

Gwen Stefani returns to "The Voice" as a coach after a one-season hiatus. In an interview with Access Hollywood, she says, "It's so fun being on the show. It's so inspiring.

In the same interview, Stefani had this to say about Gomez, "It's just incredible to me to think of somebody that's been doing it since they were a child, like it's hard to understand it." She adds, "The dedication and the years that she's put in and to only be so young but have so much experience is kind of incredible."

Gomez is excited to team up with Stefani. In the same interview, she says, "I'm learning a lot being here. I've been in a transition period with my music, so it is, like [Gwen] said, inspiring," She adds, "I love being in the presence of women, especially women who are so comfortable in their own skin and support other women."

"The Voice" Season 9 will have other powerhouse females joining in. Singer/rapper Missy Elliott will be the guest mentor for Pharell Williams' team. Megastar Rihanna will be guiding all of the teams as the show's key advisor for this season.

Gomez is happy to be part of the show. "I always feel like when I'm in the presence of someone older than me I have this respect and I love that I can learn, " she tells Access Hollywood. "I want to learn from people, I want to be around women who are, you know, nurturing and care and smart and creative."

"The Voice" Season 9 will start airing on September 21 on NBC.
