Walking Dead Actor Markice Moore In Attempted Suicide
"The Walking Dead" actor Markice Moore was rushed to the hospital after a suicide attempt Tuesday, and is now recuperating at home, according to reports.
TV actor Markice Moore, who played Andrew in the popular AMC series "The Walking Dead," was found unresponsive at his home Feb. 17 after an attempted suicide attempt. He was taken to a nearby hospital, and has already been discharged to recover from his ordeal.
Moore, 28, was confined at the hospital's psychiatric ward for a reglementary period of 72 hours before being discharged to recuperate at home. According to sources, he had been distressed over his grandmother's recent passing, leading him to make an attempt on his life.
Moore is currently undergoing therapy as a part of his recovery.
"Mr. Moore is focused on getting the help he needs and moving forward with his life to live it to the fullest," a representative for Moore said in a statement released to The Hollywood Reporter. "At this time we ask that you respect his privacy while he is taking time to heal and keep Markice and his family in your prayers."
All social media accounts associated with the actor have been taken offline since news of the incident was revealed in the media.
Moore, who is also a rapper and a reality TV actor made his debut in Season One of MTV's "From G's to Gents," where he gained notoriety for punching a fellow cast member in the face during the show's reunion episode.
Moore also starred in several other films, including "ATL," a 2006 Warner Bros. Pictures film, "Blood Done Sign My Name" (2009), and "Bolden!" (2010) prior to signing up as Andrew in "The Walking Dead."
Moore was arrested in 2010 after complaints that he assaulted his infant daughter, but the charges were dropped after the actor married the child's mother in 2011.
Moore posted a video on YouTube a few days before his suicide attempt.
