'The Walking Dead' Cast News: Tom Payne Casts as Jesus; Negan Casting Rumors Indicates Season Finale Appearance

While its companion series is currently making the buzz on the airwaves, the highly-anticipated sixth season of AMC's main zombie series, "The Walking Dead" is now adding more faces from the comic books into the show.

According to the latest casting report from The Wrap, which was picked up by various media outlets like TVGuide, Entertainment Weekly, and Screen Rant, actor Tom Payne has been cast to play the character named Paul "Jesus" Monroe.

A lot of people may recognize the 32-year-old English actor appearing on television shows like "Waterloo Road" as well as on the 2013 movie "The Physician."

As for the character, Jesus is a former member of the Hilltop Colony and is currently living within the walls of the Alexandria Safe Zone. He was described to have a "calm, logical demeanor" – attributes that will lead him to become one of Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) trusted allies and confidantes.

Monroe's introduction into the small screen adaptation of the zombie franchise ultimately leads people to believe that more comic book characters are slated to come over.

Among the lot who are mentioned are The Saviors and Negan.

Citing the intel from The Spoiling Dead Fans, the report from ComicBook.com seems to suggest that the role of the latter is now being cast. As specified, the actor should be in his "30s to mid 40s" who displays an air of being "a physically imposing, charismatic, brutal, smart, ferocious, frightening, hilarious, inappropriate, oddly friendly, fun loving sociopath that is both a leader of men and a killer of men."

He was further described to have a superior "practical and emotional intelligence," making him a "brilliant strategist" as well as having a "strong personality" that can directly affect those around him.

All of the qualities being mentioned led fans, of both the series and the comics, to believe that it really is Negan being casted.

"The Walking Dead" is slated to return October 11 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
