'The Walking Dead' Season 4 Spoilers: Rumors Suggest Daryl Loses Hope?
"The Walking Dead" season four returns to AMC with its latest episode entitled "Us" this Sunday, but fans are wondering what is in store for Daryl on the show.
Over the past few weeks, viewers of the apocalyptic drama series watched as Beth and Daryl grew closer, with Beth's influence offering Daryl hope. However, Daryl was left right where he started after Beth was kidnapped and he was surrounded by a group of vicious men.
"Suicide is stupid," the leader of the group, Joe, told Daryl- suggesting that harm could instead be done to others.
By the end of the episode, Daryl seemed to accept the loss of Emily and join the men either by force or by the need to survive, leaving many fans wondering: has he changed back into to old Daryl? Norman Reedus who portrays Daryl on "The Walking Dead" shed light on his character, describing Emily as a "light at the end of the tunnel," according to Wet Paint.
"The character that Emily plays is such a candle in the darkness for him and she bring that out in him again, she gives him hope in a way," the actor expounded.
Adding to fans' curiosity about season four, director Greg Nicotero previously offered unexpected spoilers.
"This is the first time since Season 1 where they don't have any protection," Greg Nicotero said amidst the show's mid-season break at the TV Academy, according to Deadline.
The executive producer/director of "The Walking Dead" went on to predict how the audience will feel during the next season.
"You get a sweeping sense of the world again," he said. "And our characters are thrust back in it."
Meanwhile, the marauders could be based on those found in "The Walking Dead" comic book series. While their leader Joe is not mentioned, the group of raiders known could pose a similar threat to those found in the comic books.
The synopsis for the March 16 episode entitled "Us" is as follows: "Faith becomes a survival tool for some fighting to stay alive," according to TV Guide.
"The Walking Dead" airs on AMC Sundays at 9 p.m. EST.
