'The Walking Dead' Season 5 Spoilers, News: Sneak Peek Shows Rick Mourning Beth
It won't be long until hit post-apocalyptic drama series "The Walking Dead" will come back for the second half of its fifth season. With only a reported of eight episodes left for this chapter, AMC released a treat for fans who have long been waiting for the show's return.
The two-minute video promptly shows Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the rest of his survivor group still mourning over the death of Beth (Emily Kinney), who died at the hands of Lt. Dawn Lerner in Atlanta where she was captured.
The company seemed to be burying the youngest Greene and is now getting ready for the next phase of their mission.
The upcoming episode titled "What Happened and What's Going On" is touted to move the story into a "darker" and "weirder" part of the show.
Like Lincoln said during an interview with Yahoo! TV: "It feels like we're moving into a new show."
"It feels like a new place visually, and also story-wise," he added. "It's very hard not to be brutalized by this world. But there is a sense in Rick that he's going to pull people through."
Yahoo! also dished out that "American Horror Story" and "True Blood" alum Alexandra Breckenridge will join the TV program to play a "mysterious new character" whom the group will meet along the way.
Joining Breckenridge is actor Ross Marquand who will be portraying, according to TWD creator Robert Kirkman, a "very prominent gay character from the comics."
Speculations indicated that Marquand will most probably give life to the comic book character Aaron, a resident of the Alexandria Safe Zone community. He will come across with Rick and Co. while they are on their way to Washington D.C.
"The Walking Dead" Season 5B Episode 9 airs this Sunday, Feb. 8, at 9 p.m. on AMC.
