'The Walking Dead' season 6 cast news: More comic book characters come to life
As "The Walking Dead" season 6 is nearing its release, it was hinted that the upcoming season will present an exciting adventure.
The season will be starting off with a 90-minute episode that will also introduce a new character to the roster. According to Spoil The Dead, a casting call was revealed that showed the need for a man in his 50s to 60s. The man was described as, "Narcissistic, egotistical, quick to braggadocio and anger, his own skin is his principal concern." The character is expected to become superior in the group, with a political charm. Fans guess that the casting call is in search for the character of Gregory, known in the comic book series. He is the leader of the Hilltop Colony.
Previous news stated that there was another casting call for a "military type" before the reveal of Heath and Denise's appearance in the upcoming season. It was also confirmed that Ethan Embry will be joining the cast as a character named Carter. Showrunner Scott Gimple stated, "Ethan plays a combo of a few characters that we actually haven't hit yet or weren't able to hit in other characters. He is an Alexandrian, and has been there the whole time, just quite busy." Carter is a character from the comic book that was mentioned by citizens of Alexandria since he was the one who helped build the wall. Other than that, there is very little detail on his character.
During the San Diego Comic-Con, the trailer for The Walking Dead season 6 was released. It revealed the tension between Rick and Morgan, which is what fans can expect for the season. Another teaser for the series was released during the premiere of "Fear The Walking Dead." It revealed that the season will explore a darker side of the characters.
The Walking Dead season 6 is expected to premiere on Oct. 11.
