'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Release Date & Spoilers: New Characters Join Show, Morgan Returns

Just a few more days left until the season six premiere of "The Walking Dead." Fans will once again see Rick Grimes and company, and of course, the walkers—loads of them. According to Cleveland.com, the horror-drama television series will return this Sunday, Oct. 11, with a 90-minute episode titled "First Time Again." And as expected, the premiere is going to be an explosive one right away.

Hidden Remote detailed that the show will pick up not too long after the events from the previous season. Rick, played by Andrew Lincoln, is still healing his wounds. But he better be up and running as soon as possible because sources say that the new season is going to be pack with tons of walkers. It was revealed during the Comic-Con and by showrunner Scott Gimple that the show would set a record of the number of zombies used during the season six premiere.

Aside from the walkers, there will be a number of new faces as well. The newbie list includes Heath (Corey Hawkings), Carter (Ethan Embry) and Dr. Denise Cloyd (Merritt). But not all of them will be staying for too long especially Carter who is reported to be killed off in the premiere. There will also be lots of flashbacks, going all the way back to how the Safe-Zone became so safe and the truth behind the fate of Enid's parents.

The upcoming season will also make Lennie James a main cast in the show. Playing as Morgan Jones, he will return after being on the road the past two seasons. During his time away, he learned how to fight and even gained a new philosophy in life. Sources say that he will not have any brawny scene with Rick in this episode though they will be having conversations.

It's expected that the focus in the coming season will be on Rick as he tries to be the leader of the Safe-Zone and the community battling with walkers.
