'The Walking Dead' Season 6B News, Update: Xander Berkeley's Role Revealed

Earlier in September, a casting report from TVLine revealed that veteran actor Xander Berkeley would be joining the second half of the current sixth season of AMC's hit post-apocalyptic drama TV series "The Walking Dead."

The character to which the 60-year-old has to play has yet to be revealed but a current update from the media outlet said that he would be taking on the role of Gregory.

Comic book fans may already know of the character as the vain, narcissistic leader of Hilltop Colony, a farming community lying a few miles away from the recently devastated walled town of Alexandria. Gregory's constituents are quite aware of his cowardly nature. However, they still look up to him and even consider him to be one of the best leaders to take the helm. Despite this fact, the person in question seems to be quite insistent that his actions are not of a coward's. Instead, for him, it's all but part of his plan to keep his town intact.

Aside from these characteristics, Gregory is a known womanizer and is quite flirtatious when around women. In fact, he even tried his luck with Glenn's (Steven Yeun) wife, Maggie (Lauren Cohan). But his most notable part in the story, which greatly affects its direction, is when he betrayed Rick and his company to the infamous Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). He even attempted to kill Maggie in the process.

When Berkeley's character debuts in the series has yet to be found out. However, many believe that he'll be promoted to a series regular in the succeeding season.

"The Walking Dead" Season 6B is slated to return to the small screens by Feb. 14 with a brand new episode called "No Way Out." The segment is written by Seth Hoffman and directed by Greg Nicotero, who also serves as one of the show's executive producers.
