Fans of the hit series "The Walking Dead" have been waiting to know more about the final moments of the Season 6 finale.
According to HNGN, after a whole season of waiting, the season finale of "The Walking Dead" brought Negan, played by Jeffery Dead Morgan, to the small screen. Avid comic book fans have been anticipating his introduction as he was an iconic villain in the comic series.
With that, Negan's TV debut was a milestone for "TWD" and news about his appearance stirred a lot of buzz. The finale showed him beating one of Grimes' men, though the episode did not reveal who it was. Many fans were disappointed with the execution of the famous scene, stating that it was not done with justice.

A month after the finale's release, series creator Robert Kirkman finally addressed the concerns of the fans. Kirkman released a letter to the fans apologizing for their mistake. While some fans felt as though the scene was a ploy to get fans to watch the next season, Kirkman explained that that was not their sole intention for the scene, as per TWD Enthusiasts.
He explained that they were interested in getting the fans to talk about the series, which was successful. He said, "The speculation, the frustration, the possibilities, the theories... honestly, in my mind... that stuff is FUN. I honestly feel like that's something fun for the fans to do during the break. Was it Spencer? Could it have been Morgan? What about Carol? Did Negan kill Jesus?!"
In addition, he apologized for those who were angry and dissappointed with "The Walking Dead" Season 6 finale. He stated that their plan backfired, which is why he promised an epic Season 7 premiere. He teased that the upcoming premiere will be a two-part episode which will excite the fans. He also hinted that it will bring an interesting twist to the story.
"The Walking Dead" Season 7 is expected to premiere on AMC this October.
