'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers, Cast Rumors: Will Sean Carrigan Be Leaving the Show?
In a show comprised by a cast as big as "The Young and the Restless," it can't be helped that at some point the show will be cutting some actors out. This is usually most common for actors whose story lines are no longer integral and have slowly faded into the background. For the soap opera genre, killing off characters is the most common way to go.
According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, the latest actor that could be facing the end of his days is Sean Carrigan. Carrigan plays Dr. Ben "Stitch" Rayburn in the long-time running CBS soap. Many think that one of the main reasons he may be cut is his lack of a compelling story line. His appearances have become rather much of a filler rather than a main focus, and this has been going on for the past six months.
Carrigaan renewed his contract last year to continue the issue about the paternity of Victoria's newborn baby daughter; however, afterward, his character Stitch had seemed to go stagnant to almost irrelevant. It was already forecast months ago that November sweeps may be the time when Stitch's death could be expected. It is assumed he will die in an explosion expected to occur during the Newman Ball. Chuck Pratt Jr. had already revealed sometime before about the explosion that will happen at the Newman Gala. He was quoted saying, "At least four people will die, with one being a key contract character." Apparently, one of them will die saving a main character.
With the current rumor of Stitch being out, fans can't help but connect it to Pratt's statement and be expectedly upset. Stitch has been a fan-favorite, and though he hasn't been the focus in the past couple of months, many of his supporters still continue to hope that he will be back take the spotlight sometime in the future.
For now, viewers can catch Carrigan as Stitch on "The Young and the Restless," which airs every weekday at CBS.
