'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Jason Thompson Cast as Billy Abbott While Burgess Jenkins Leaves Show
American television soap opera "The Young and Restless" is going to have some changes in their upcoming episodes. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, it has already been confirmed that "General Hospital" star Jason Thompson is joining in the cast.
Apparently, Thompson is not going to come as a new character as the source stated that he will be taking over Burgess Jenkin's role as Billy Abbott. Jenkins already announced last month that he will be leaving the show. Thompson also revealed that he will be, in fact, leaving his "General Hospital" family.
Rumors say that the reason for his departure is because he is no longer satisfied with the amount of screen time his character, Patrick Drake, has been receiving on the soap opera. And since Billy is a major character in "The Young and Restless," the role would fit perfectly with his preference.
It's not clearly detailed yet how Thompson will make an entrance on the show but Star Pulse reported that Billy may get in a car accident. And not just any accident but a serious wreck. Fans are speculating now that this could be the plot meant for Jenkins' exit from the show. Rumors have also started surfacing saying that Billy may be greatly injured and will need plastic surgery. Victoria and the rest of the Abbotts will most likely be around Billy's bedside after the accident as he fights for survival.
In other news, Latin Post's spoiler report revealed that Sage Newman (Kelly Sullivan) will be invited to Sharon Newman's (Sharon Case) baby's christening. It's going to be a difficult time for her as she will be reminded of her lost baby Christian, who is actually really the same baby that Sharon is claiming to be hers. Both Sage and Nick will continue to move on and heal from the loss. However, it seems like the secret of Christian's real daddy, Adam, will be revealed soon.
Fans will have to stay tuned to find out for more. "The Young and Restless" airs from Mondays to Fridays on CBS.
