'This Is Us' Season 2 Spoilers, Cast News: William's Past, Randall's Adoption Explored

A younger William (Jermel Nakia) will be back in an upcoming episode of "This Is Us" on NBC. The show will explore the character's past, while Randall's (Sterling K. Brown/Lonnie Chavis) adoption will also be featured in another timeline.

"This Is Us" recently tapped Sam Anderson for a guest appearance in episode 7, which airs Tuesday, Nov. 7. The actor will play a judge in a story featuring an adult William who becomes embroiled in a legal problem. But how does William's storyline tie with Randall?

In another timeline on "This Is Us," Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) will finalize their adoption for Randall. While his biological father runs into legal trouble, Randall's adoptive parents make sure that he gets a good shot in life by officially making him part of a stable family.

Randall's adoption, however, won't be easy for the Pearsons as the couple will have to fight to keep him. The judge, played by Delroy Lindo, doesn't think that Rebecca and Jack should have legal rights over the boy.

"This Is Us" has never shown that Rebecca and Jack had legal problems in adopting Randall before. This latest episode entitled "The Most Disappointed Man," however, will define how much having him means to the family.

Meanwhile, Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan) will take their relationship to the next level in this episode. The couple will decide to go to the courthouse for a civil wedding but whether or not they'll actually proceed is one to watch. Will Kate hesitate because her brothers are not there to witness her getting married?

As Kevin (Justin Hartley) visits his girlfriend Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge) in New York, Randall will take matters in his hands when he checks on Deja's (Lyric Ross) mom in jail. He will confront his foster daughter's mother, which will give Deja more sense that there is a family looking out for her.

"This Is Us" airs Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. EST on NBC.
