'This Is Winter Jam' One Night Movie Event Showcases World's Largest Christian Music Tour (Review)
Francesca Battistelli is also featured belting out her hit, "He Knows my Name" in a worshipful performance where she quotes from the scripture Jeremiah 1:9. Jeremy Camp's "Can't Be Moved and "Living Word of God" performances are also in the film.
During one scence fans can watch for King & Country back stage coordinating a communal performance with Daigle, Crowder, Tedashii, Matthew West, Red, KB, Sidewalk prophets.
One of the most eye opening moments of the film was seeing the inclusiveness of new artists.Winter Jam provides a platform for those who have yet to make a name for themselves in the Christian industry. Both Jeremy Camp and Tobymac are known for mentoring newer acts while on the road.
"This is Winter Jam" even highlights performances from newer acts. About a Mile sung their song, "Who You Say You Are," Verida performed, "Furious love," and Blanca passionately sung, "Who I Am."
When on the road Winter Jam uses 13 buses, five trucks, and 150 crew for stage set up and break down alone.
The best part for many on the tour is what they call, "Jam church." Every Sunday on tour they have church. Different people lead worship every Sunday as a tour pastor brings the Word. One of the pastors highly esteemed by Tait and others is Bobby Joiner.
"I've really gained some true friends from being backstage and touring on Winter Jam," TobyMac said while speaking of Jam church.
Weest added: "We're encouraging each other, we're texting each other, really speaking into each other's lives. Real relationships come out of Winter Jam Tour. By the end of the Winter Jam Tour, it is a family."
Over all "This is Winter Jam" showcases why the tour is the world's No.1 tour. The focus on ministry and the gospel is inspiring. "Winter Jam" sees their attendees as souls not just seats. Tour pastor's take special care of the people that are involved as well as they avail themselves to pray for anyone who needs it after the shows. Every seat at every arena is always prayed over and every night the gospel is shared and invitation to accept Christ is offered. It is no wonder this tour is showing no signs of slowing down. It is encouraging hope and life during hopeless and perilious times.
"Everybody in the building needs something. We gather every denomination, every background. We just step over every wall that would separate us as the body of Christ. We don't care where the person beside us goes to church, we grab their hand for prayer and we lift our hands together," Russ Lee of Newsong shared.
Tait added that he wants people's lives to be changed after they attend a Winter Jam concert. Dixon said while on tour he has a front seat every night to what God is doing in people's lives. And Camp echoed those sentiments by saying that he wants people who don't know Christ to come to Christ.
The movie even ends with tour Pastor Tony Nolan leading the viewers in prayer and encouraging them to accept Jesus into their hearts.
