This Police Officer Went Above and Beyond the Call of Duty to Protect and Serve
We hear about homelessness more than ever as of late, whether it be through YouTube videos or people writing about them. It is a huge problem in the U.S. as one in 45 people will experience homelessness every year. In this case a family from Alaska was living from their car and a police officer approached them. Instead of telling the to leave, he does something incredible.
Noticing that they were sleeping in their car in the park, Police Officer Lt. David Natt decided to investigate the issue. He found Robert Wood and his family setting up to sleep for the night. At this point, most officers would made them leave the park after dark. But, this officer offered knew he had to do something about it.
What happens next is truly inspiring. He offered to pay for their stay in a hotel for the night.
