Charles E. Fuller born – April 25, 1887
This week marks the anniversary of when Charles E. Fuller, a notable preacher and broadcaster who helped to found Fuller Theological Seminary in the 1940s, was born in California.
Born to a furniture merchant who later became a fruit grower, Fuller graduated magna cum laude from Pomona College and originally planned to become a fruit-packing businessman.

“In 1917 Fuller went to the Church of the Open Door in Los Angeles to hear Paul Rader preach. The sermon from Ephesians 1:18 reached his heart, and he was converted to Christ,” explained Believersweb.org.
“The next year found him and his wife traveling as itinerant missionaries to the remote villages of the western states. They shared a burden to reach people in out-of-the-way places.”
Eventually, Fuller became a professional preacher and founded a radio program called the “The Old-Fashioned Revival Hour” that at one point was broadcast on over 500 stations.
