'Thor 3' Release Date Delayed: Premiere Pushed Back, Cast and Rumors Revealed

Marvel Studios has done extremely well as it churns out film after film for its Marvel Cinematic Universe. Last year, "Guardians of the Galaxy" was very well received, and this year's offering should prove to be a success as in a few months, movie goers will finally be treated to the second Avengers movie, "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

As for stand-alone movies, Marvel has recently shifted some films in the pipeline as Sony and Marvel are partnering on future appearances of Spider-Man, including within the MCU. Due to the new partnership, the comic book franchise studio has announced new release dates for currently scheduled upcoming films.

Among the movies that got a new release date is "Thor: Ragnarok" which had been scheduled for July 28, 2017. The film has been pushed back and will now be released on Nov. 3, 2017. The move directly makes room for Sony's Spider-Man film, which will now open on Thor's original date.

Meanwhile, Cinemablend reports that a Reddit user claiming to be a Marvel employee who was laid off earlier this year is saying that the Thor films are being treated as if in "critical condition". He stated that many considered that the previous Thor movies don't have the right balance with its humor, and Marvel is now allegedly looking for a new director who will treat the franchise "with respect."

Chris Hemworth will be reprising his role as Thor, and Tom Hiddleston will return as Loki. It is unclear whether Natalie Portman will reprise her role as Jane Foster.

As for other characters, there are rumors that we might get a glimpse of Loki's wife, Sigyn, as well as The Enchantress who will appear as a love interest for Loki.
