'Thor: Ragnarok' News, Release Date: Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo Count Down to Film's Release in New Video
With "Thor: Ragnarok" just a few days away, Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) recently took some time off their busy schedules to celebrate the film's upcoming release. Marvel took to social media to show the two actors entertainingly expressing their burning anticipation for the film exactly 10 days before it opens in theaters.
Over on Twitter, Marvel Studios uploaded two videos featuring the 10-day countdown to "Thor: Ragnarok's" theatrical release. Posted on Tuesday, the first video shows Hemsworth and Ruffalo comically breaking down the time frame before the God of Thunder appears in theaters once again. The video begins with the two actors counting down with days, hours, and minutes while chuckling off their feet along the way.
In the second video, the 10-day countdown is infused with some footage from the actual film, as well as remarkable quotes from film critics who have already watched the film. The new shots include those of Thor, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum). Towards the end of the second video, Taika Waititi's Korg appears and declares, "The revolution has begun."
"Thor: Ragnarok" is the third film in the "Thor" franchise following "Thor" in 2011 and "Thor: Dark World" in 2013. Projected to earn at least $100 million domestically on its opening weekend, the film promises to be one of Marvel's wildest films ever.
In a recent interview, Hemsworth said that what makes "Thor" different from its predecessors is that it's made by Waititi, who kept pushing them to do their best throughout the production.
"He constantly encouraged us to improvise and explore and take risks. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences that I've ever had on a set, and it's a film that I feel the most proud of, just because of this whole team and the collaboration, and the fun we had," said the actor.
"Thor: Ragnarok" hits theaters on Nov. 3.
