Thousands Expected to Attend End Times Scholar's 5th Annual Prophecy Conference

Southern California megachurch pastor Phil Hotsenpiller will be hosting a three-day seminar over the Labor Day weekend to discuss theological perspectives of current events and their relation to the "last days."

The free event, which will feature an interview with "Son of Hamas" Mosab Hassan Yousef, will be held Sept. 3-5 at the Friends Church in Yorba Linda, Calif.

The event has been held each year around the same time for the past four years and last year drew over 8,000 attendees.

"With war in the Middle East, climate change, suspicions of countries testing nuclear weapons and an increased occurrence of natural disasters, many people are speculating if the end of the world is near," says Hotsenpiller, who claims to be a theological expert on biblical end times prophecy after having long-studied eschatology, the branch of theology dealing with the end of the world.

"I believe those speculations would be correct," the teaching pastor adds. "This weekend will be an informative and exciting look at the signs of times."

While many topics will be discussed at the conference, the highlight of the seminar arguably will be Hotsenpiller's interview with Yousef, the oldest son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a founding member of terrorist group Hamas and its most popular leader.

Yousef had assisted his father for years in his political activities while being groomed to assume his leadership role in the organization. After a chance encounter with a British missionary in 1999, however, Yousef started the six-year quest that would lead to his embrace of Jesus Christ and his departure from his family, friends and homeland.

Today, Yousef says he is convinced that speaking out about the problems of Islam and the "evil" he witnessed back home will help to address the "messed-up situation" in the Middle East and one day bring about peace and enable him to return.

In his best-seller, Son of Hamas, Yousef – who now goes by "Joseph" – revealed new information about the world's most dangerous terrorist organization and his belief that the Christian mandate to "love your enemies" is the only way to peace in the Middle East.

On Friday night, Hotsenpiller was scheduled to interview Yousef about Islam, peace in the Middle East and how this relates to the biblical end times.

Other topics that will be discussed at the conference include:

•Severe weather, volcanoes, earthquakes, oil spills and the end times
•Political and economic climate and the end times
•Why is today different than any other concerning the end times?
•Timeline for the end of the world
•Is the anti-Christ alive today?
