Three Actresses Leaving 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 14

In the 14 seasons of ABC's hit medical drama "Grey's Anatomy," viewers have seen many doctors come and go. And in the upcoming installment, fans will say good-bye to three.

One of the actresses leaving "Grey's Anatomy" is the season 13 newcomer Marika Dominczyk, who portrayed consultant Eliza Minnick, TV Line has confirmed.

Many might not be surprised about Dominczyk's character bidding Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital adieu given that she was fired by Bailey (Chandra Wilson) in the May finale. Although fans have yet to see if she officially called it quits with Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), the pediatric surgeon is assumed to be single.

Speaking to E! Online, Capshaw teased that Eliza "leaves Arizona high and dry after all that super love talk."

Another doctor leaving Grey-Sloan Memorial is Stephanie Edwards who was portrayed by Jerrika Hinton for five seasons. The actress announced her exit last May.

Bridget Regan will also be leaving the show; however, her character, Megan, is here to stay. A new actress will be filling in for Regan who is unable to reprise her role on "Grey's Anatomy" due to prior commitments to TNT's "The Last Ship."

While a number of people are leaving, fans should expect to see new faces in the mix. Rigg's (Martin Henderson) wife will be played by Abigail Spencer in the upcoming season. According to Entertainment Weekly, Italian actress Stefania Spampinato will be introduced next season as the sister of Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti). She will portray a new doctor named Carina. Her arrival will be much of a happy family reunion. "It's not exactly good news," Gianniotti teases, "he's flustered by it."

He continues, "It's a thorn in his side, her being there, but everybody else is quite fond of her. She will be working [at the hospital], and she's going to help tell the story of DeLuca and how he comes from Italy."

"Grey's Anatomy" season 14 returns with a two-hour premiere on Sept. 28, Thursday, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
