Both have similar records with 2-4 and are behind the Arizona Cardinals who are 4-2 and the St. Louis Rams who are 2-3.

Between the two squads, it is more surprising that the Seahawks are going through this slump.

Last year's Super Bowl runners-up, many expected Seattle to bounce from opponent to opponent picking up wins with tough defense and excellent offensive arsenal.

Unfortunately, it has not been the case and the Seahawks are now trying to turn things around in order to climb the ladder.

They dropped their first two games in the league with losses against the St. Louis Rams and Green Bay Packers.

Despite their 0-2 start, they were able to bounce back with two wins by dominating the Chicago Bears and outlasting the Detroit Lions.

However, they could not sustain the momentum as they dropped more back-to-back games with close losses to the Cincinnati Bengals and the Carolina Panthers.

On the lighter note, three of their four losses are against very tough teams – with two of those still unbeaten. But for Seahawks fans, they are expecting better things from the team and it may start against a close rival in the Niners.

It has been well documented that the Niners had a tough off-season that saw their great squad be chipped off of their championship pieces.

Now they look like a rebuilding team looking for an identity and hoping that their quarterback Colin Kaepernick will come up good.

Their 2-4 record is disastrous but signs may be turning to the positive.

They won their first game against the Minnesota Vikings but lost four straight to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers and New York Giants.

San Francisco finally bounced back with a close win over the Baltimore Ravens to improve their record – but the most promising look is that Kaepernick looks like he is slowly getting his confidence back.

If that is the case then it has come in the best time as they are facing a rival who have been thorns on their sides.
