The musical is based on the best-selling book "The Duck Commander Family" by Willie and Korie Robertson, who have been married for 23 years.
"This is a very exciting time for our family," she said "We are blessed to have the opportunity to share our lives with the world, and we cannot wait to have audiences join us on this incredible adventure."
The captivating 90-minute show features a contemporary score that blends country, rock, gospel, and pop and multimedia set delivering backwoods authenticity through cutting-edge technology. Tickets to the real-life rags-to-riches story will be available on Feb. 17 with pre-sale tickets for Total Rewards members as well as Duck Commander Facebook fans available on Feb. 12.
Although "Duck Commander Musical" will not star the Robertson family themselves, the production is based on their rise to fame through the family duck-call business as well as on A&E's "Duck Dynasty."
"It's about redemption," Willie Robertson revealed in a previous interview with Fox. "It's about all these decisions we had to make in our life and overcoming and ending up being on TV and all that. It's a great story and it's pretty wonderful."
Robertson, who is the son of Phil Robertson and the CEO of Duck Commander, went on to say that casting for the musical went very well, including an actor to portray Uncle Si who "nailed" the role. Furthermore, the Robertson clan has stamped the musical score with approval.
"When we heard the first four songs played for us, Willie and I cried," Korie revealed. "We boo-hooed like babies… It's the story of the American dream."
