Tiger Woods Signs With Rolex in First Endorsement Since Sex Scandals
Tiger Woods has landed his first significant endorsement since his sex scandal in 2009. The endorsement has come from watch specialists Rolex.
Woods lost five major sponsors in the wake of his publicized sex scandals, which led to his divorce with Elin Nordegren.
He was removed as the spokesman for AT&T, Accenture, Tag Heuer, Gatorade and Gillette. Woods was previously regarded as a role model and a great family man before the revelations of his private life. He used to make $100 million a year in royalties.
“Rolex is convinced that Tiger Woods still has a long career ahead of him and that he has all the qualities required to continue to mark the history of golf,” a spokesperson for Rolex said in a statement.
“The brand is committed to accompanying him in his new challenges. This association pays tribute to the exceptional stature of Tiger Woods and the leading role he plays in forging the sport's global appeal. It also constitutes a joint commitment to the future.”
Tiger Woods’ “No. 1 Mistress” Rachel Uchitel married her new fiancé in Las Vegas this week.
