Tiger Woods Wins Chevron World Challenge
Tiger Woods won the Chevron World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, Calif. on Sunday, marking his first win since his infidelity scandal broke in 2009.
Woods beat former Masters champion Zach Johnson by one stroke, knocking in birdie putts of 15 and 6 feet on the final two holes. Woods finished at 10-under-par while Johnson came in at 9-under. Paul Casey finished third at 5-under.
The win boosted Woods from No. 52 to No. 21 in the world golf rankings.

"It feels great," he said, according to USA Today. "To go head to head against Zach all day was a bunch of fun for both of us. I had been in contention twice this year, which is not often. I felt normal. I felt comfortable coming down the stretch. I have been there so many times. Was I nervous? Absolutely. But it was a comfortable feeling."
Johnson said he was not surprised by Woods' win and thinks he has a lot to look forward to in the upcoming year.
"I think he's going to have a good year," he said. "If the man is healthy, that is paramount. Because he has the most experience, and he's the best player I've ever seen. He knows how to win, whatever the circumstances."
Woods raked in $1.2 million for the win, which will be donated to his charity, the Tiger Woods Foundation, one of the benefactors of the tournament.
Following an accident in which Woods crashed his SUV into a neighbor's tree back in 2009, reports began to surface of the golfer's infidelities to his wife of five years, Swedish model Elin Nordegren, with whom he has two children. The scandal took a toll on Woods as key sponsors began pulling their support shortly after the reports surfaced and his net worth dropped substantially.
In Dec. 2009, Woods took an indefinite leave from golf.
