Tim Tebow Fans Urge Jacksonville Jauguars to Sign Hometown Player
After a disappointing start to their season fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars held a rally in hopes of convincing the team's management to sign hometown hero Tim Tebow.
Tebow fans held a tailgate rally at EverBank Field Monday insisting the team sign former Hiesman Trophy winner. The gathering started at 3:16 p.m. in honor of John 3:16, the biblical verse that Tebow used to paint in his eyeblack when he played at Florida.
Organizers set up a tent outside the stadium, served grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, and said they hope to do it every Monday.

Tebow is currently a free agent after being cut by the New England Patriots at the end of training camp. Prior to that, the former Nease High and University of Florida quarterback was cut by the New York Jets.
"I will remain in relentless pursuit of continuing my lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback," Tebow said in a message on Twitter after being released by the Patriots.
As Tebow continues his search for work in the NFL, one Russian team has offered him $1 million to play in just two games.
Mikhail Zaltsman, owner of the Moscow Black Storm football team, told Russia Beyond the Headlines his plan is to fly Tebow in to play in an American Football Championship of Russia (AFCR) semifinal game against the Moscow Patriots at the end of the month. If his team wins, Tebow would also play in the league's championship game.
"I talked with him personally and he wanted to go," Zaltsman told RBTH.
The team owner also said Tebow's agents are standing in the way of the deal.
"They're thinking of using him as a motivational speaker," he said. "They don't want him to play football."
Unlike NFL rules, AFCR rules would allow Tebow to sport Bible verse references on his eye black, just as he did while playing for the University of Florida Gators.
