Tim Tebow's Faith Makes Him a Winner, Says Pastor

Tim Tebow’s uncanny winning streak sees him give glory to Christ at the end of each game, and his pastor Wayne Hanson says he knows what is behind Tebow’s success.

“It’s not luck,” the pastor said, TMZ wrote. “Luck isn’t winning six games in a row. It’s favor. God’s favor.”

According to Hanson, Tebow would not be winning as much if his faith was not so strong.

Tebow, however, is beginning to feel the pressure of statements like this, and is trying to avoid any credit for the team winning.

“I don’t think it’s Tebow Time, I think it’s the Broncos Time," he said Sunday after the game in a statement.

A couple of football fans told The Christian Post how they felt on Tebow's winning and his faith.

Christopher Mandala said, "The only thing I will say is that it's entirely possible that God is using Tebow as a vehicle to spread the Word en masse. It seems highly unlikely to me that God is rewarding Tim Tebow with football wins for his faith."

However, Jon Comis disagreed with Mandala’s thinking that God is responsible for Tebow's wins. "I don't necessarily agree that God rewarding Tebow with wins is unlikely though. Actually I believe it is very likely. God will use whatever means necessary to get His name out to the world and bring glory to it. Seems like it's working - we're talking about it right now."

"Call it luck, call it faith, call it good timing, call it whatever you like; it’s the perfect media story when you center it around a guy like Tebow," said AJ Santagata.

"Personally, I don’t care what a player proclaims about God or whether he believes in; I believe that Tebow’s proclamation of faith has become more of a conversation topic over how well that team responds to him as a leader, which has caused Denver’s turnaround."

Tebow's leadership has been brought up quite a bit lately, and some are starting to wonder if it is that specific characteristic that is responsible for the wins rather than his faith.

Steve Tobak of CBS news wrote about Tebow in his column, saying, "Growing up with a strong family unit, sense of community, and system of ethics and beliefs -- as Tebow did -- is really important in leadership. I think people with a strong cultural background are more effective at creating a strong corporate culture."

He went on to talk about how Tebow's upbringing as the youngest of five children to missionaries in the Philippines as well as his time spent being home schooled paved the way for him by giving him a sense of pride and a different background than most.

Tobak explained that Tebow uses what makes him unique as the driving force for his success.

TMZ spoke with a priest from the Church of Satan, Peter H. Gilmore, who said God has nothing to do with Tebow winning because that would imply God is making other teams lose, which is not God's nature.

However, he did feel that Tebow's belief in God has helped him mentally and positively as he has something to push for.

"Satanists are atheists, and we would consider any triumph to rely on a combination of skill and luck – most certainly not in any form of supernatural intervention from either Heaven or Hell," he told the gossip site.

The questions remain: Is it the hand of God, the ethics of a leader, or pure luck?
