Tim Tebow's Religion Gaining 'Cult' Following With Tebowing

The controversial as ever Tim Tebow has become a viral name, the bud of jokes, and stand out Christian character in recent months, with many not even focusing on what he does on the field but about the name of Jesus he professes so openly.

Tebow has become the inspirational leader for his Denver Broncos as he has rallied the team back from the brink of failure countless times each week. Even more so inspirational is his persistence to give God the glory at every opportunity possible.

"If you're married and you have a wife and you really love your wife, is it good enough to only say to your wife 'I love her' the day you get married? Or should you tell her every single day when you wake up and every opportunity?"

"So any time I get an opportunity to tell Him that I love Him or given an opportunity to shout Him out on national TV, I'm gonna take that opportunity," Tebow explained.

Jake Plummer, former quarterback of the Broncos, said in an interview with 910-AM in Phoenix, “I wish he’d just shut up after a game and go hug his teammates,” Plummer said. “I think that when he accepts the fact that we know that he loves Jesus Christ then I think I’ll like him a little better. I don’t hate him because of that, I just would rather not have to hear that every time he takes a good snap or makes a good handoff.”

However, many feel he should focus more on his play because of the lack of support he gets from his own team president, Hall of Famer John Elway.

The critics are also harsh on the quarterback as they feel he never plays well in the first three quarters of the game.

“So, explain to me Tim Tebow, what the heck gets into you during fourth quarter late-game drives? I mean do you go into some other zone? Do you go into some spiritual realm that we’re not familiar with?” said Skip Bayless to Tebow in a phone interview on ESPN.

Tebow laughed, and responded, “No, I don’t go into anything like that. I just love playing the game. I’ve been very competitive since I was a little boy and in college. Coach [Urban] Meyer would always talk about that, at the end of the game, you’ve got to have competitive greatness. You have to trust those teammates around you and the coaches. I think that’s what we’ve been doing...”

Then there is of course the viral meme of "Tebowing," which is the way the football player gets down and prays during games. Fans have been posting pictures and videos of themselves Tebowing in some unlikely places.

Now, there is even a racehorse named Tebow.

One of the owners of the horse's racing club, Larry Koch, said to told Larry Brown Sports: "Our response has been polarizing. A bunch of people want to go in, and a bunch of people said they would never go in on that."

"My whole goal is to get people into horse racing," he continued. "If naming the horse 'Tebowing' gets people into racing, it's worth it."
