'Timeless' Season 2 Spoilers: Team Time to Destroy Machine and Thwart Rittenhouse?
Team Time may have to destroy the machine to stop the Rittenhouse organization in the next installment of "Timeless."
Spoilers reveal Wyatt (Matt Latner) and his group will do their best to retrieve the magical contraption from the thieves. Previously, it was revealed that the Rittenhouse sent Emma (Annie Wersching) to fool Flynn (Goran Višnjić) and steal the time machine. The organization wanted to change history and take over the world. To prevent this, Team Time may have to pull all the stops, including destroying the machine for good. Executive producer Shawn Ryan hinted, though, that season 2 would still feature a lot of time traveling.
"To me, what makes our show unique and wonderful is that we get to investigate different time periods. We have discussed maybe doing a two-parter that would stay in one place in one time period. But ultimately, the show's normal pattern would be to go a different time period and place each week to deal with events. That's part of the appeal of the show," the EP teased.

If the time machine will continue to play a huge role in the new storyline, this means that the Rittenhouse will succeed in its quest to become the most powerful organization of all time. Wyatt and the others will likely hunt the group down in different eras, hoping to make things right. Flynn is expected to work with them since they are dealing with a common enemy.
Speculations are rife that internal conflicts will arise that may hurt the team. Wyatt and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) will allegedly argue over their priority as a unit. It has been teased that Rufus' main concern is Jiya's (Claudia Doumit) condition. He wants to find a cure to her illness as soon a possible. This may hinder him from fulfilling his duties in the group.
NBC has not yet released any updates about "Timeless" season 2, but the show is expected to return in 2018.
