'Timeless' Season 2 Spoilers: Wyatt and Rufus to Disagree over Team's Future Plans
Wyatt (Matt Latner) and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) will have to talk about priorities in the next installment of "Timeless."
In a February interview, executive producer Shawn Ryan said that the new installment would see Lucy (Abigail Spencer) on one side and the rest of her Team Time on the other. When it was revealed that her family has been part of Rittenhouse for centuries, Lucy knew that she was in trouble. Her mother, Carol (Susanna Thompson), wasted no time telling her that she was next line to become the head of the clan. This meant that Lucy was destined to be part of the upper echelon of the organization.
Without Lucy, Wyatt, Rufus, and the sick Jiya (Claudia Doumit) will have to discuss their next step against Rittenhouse. The group has succeeded in stealing the time machine last time. While Wyatt's first priority is to get the contraption back, it will not be the same for Rufus. In season 2, Rufus just wants to see his girlfriend well again. Ryan said that their storyline would be one of the focus. Wyatt's insistence in getting back the time machine may not sit well with Rufus, who will especially be stressed with Jiya's unchanging condition.

"In the finale, she obviously was affected when she was the fourth passenger instead of the intended three in the Lifeboat. It affected in some way how she observes time. That's definitely a hint. We liked Claudia from the get-go, and as we began giving her more stuff to do and the relationship between Jiya and Rufus grew, she's become a bit of a fan favorite. This development allows us more story for her next season," the EP teased.
Spoilers indicate that Rufus will go as far as getting revenge on her behalf. Jiya acquired her debilitating symptoms when she was forced to pilot the time machine in order to escape Flynn (Goran Višnjić). Since the criminal is expected to work with their group to take down the organization, Rufus will be forced to postpone his retaliation.
NBC has not yet released any updates about "Timeless" season 2, but the show is expected to return in 2018.
