Toby Mac and Michael Tait of dc Talk will be part of the bold line up for NewSong's Winter Jam '05 tour. The 20-city tour, scheduled to kick off in Canton, Ohio on Jan. 14th, will also include Jam veteran Rachael Lampa and debut, chart topping, artists Building 429 and Matthew West.
"This tour is one of the most diverse and affordable shows out there and people continually respond," tour producer Troy VanLiere told CCM Magazine. "We anticipate some of the biggest crowds ever this year."
According to CCM Magzine, NewSong's Jam events have galvanized the Christian music industry, as a diverse lineup of artists such as the Newsboys, Rebecca St. James, Audio Adrenaline, Carman, Relient K, Plus One, and Rachael Lampa have realized the benefits of a multi-artist bill. The events consistently draw large crowds, some as big as 15,000. The 2004 Winter and Summer Jam dates drew over 125,000 people.
Last years tour added a new dimension with illusionist Brock Gill and will continue in that tradition by featuring BMX bike stunt team, Chaos on Wheels.
"Im really excited to have Toby Mac out with us this year," said NewSong founding member, Eddie Carswell. "He has such a heart for youth and puts on a really incredible live show. Its great having Tait and Rachael back on the road with us. Building 429 and Matthew West have had some of the biggest radio hits of the year. Its going to be an amazing show every single night."
