'Tokyo Ghoul': Toonami Releases Teaser for Anime
After years of taking up the late-night anime block on Toonami, "One Piece" will finally pass on its air time to a more violent anime series. According to reports, the network will be in for a huge change on Saturday, March 25 as it ditches the Straw Hat Pirates to give way to "Tokyo Ghoul."
Recently, Toonami released a bloody teaser which introduces the basic premise of the anime series. It features an ill-fated boy named Ken Kaneki, who was born as a half-Ghoul. Being such, he lives in an alternate world where Ghouls reside and survive by feeding on human flesh. Knowing that Ghouls are humanoid monsters, Kaneki is scared of where his fate as a half-Ghoul is going to bring him. Unfortunately, he has no power to reverse his fate. In due course, he finds himself craving for human flesh and hates himself for it. The full-blooded Ghouls believe that Kaneki will not last for long.

Created by Sui Ishida, "Tokyo Ghoul" debuted in September 2011 when it was first published in the Japanese magazine "Weekly Young Jump." Later on, Pierrot adapted it into an anime series, which premiered sometime in July 2014. It was followed by another season in January of the following year.
The creators of the series have yet to announce if "Tokyo Ghoul" will be renewed for a third season. There were previous rumors that season 3 will premiere soon, but until its creators make an official announcement, fans can only speculate.
