'Tokyo Ghoul' Season 3 Release Date News: New Season To Be Released In 2018

The third installment for the "Tokyo Ghoul" anime has been officially announced.

Franchise creator Sui Ishida made the announcement through Yonkou Production's Twitter account, where a video featuring a more matured Ken Kaneki had been posted. Based on the trailer, voice actor Natsuki Hanae will return to provide the voice for the show's main character.

According to the announcement, the "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 anime series will be having multiple promotions in 2018. It also confirmed that the upcoming installment of the anime series will be centered on the story featured in Ishida's "Tokyo Ghoul: re" manga. It means that it will not be a reboot of the original anime.

A report claimed that the plot of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will feature a new protagonist named Haise Sasaki who will take over the show after Kaneki's death. The report revealed that Sasaki is the leader of the Quinx Squad, also known as the Qs Squad, which is a group of ordinary humans who went through a surgical procedure where a ghoul's quinque has been implanted into their bodies.

Another report revealed that the Qs Squad is part of the Commission of Counter Ghoul (CCG). But even if the Qs Squad members could not be considered as real ghouls, they will still reportedly encounter a lot of prejudice from the human members of the CCG.

ComicBook posted the description of the "Tokyo Ghoul: re" manga that will be released by Viz Media in the US on Tuesday, Oct. 17, which reads: "Haise Sasaki has been tasked with teaching Qs Squad how to be outstanding investigators, but his assignment is complicated by the troublesome personalities of his students and his own uncertain grasp of his Ghoul powers. Can he pull them together as a team, or will Qs Squad first assignment be their last?"

Details about the release date of the "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 anime has yet to be announced in the coming days.
