'Tom Clancy's The Division' Beta Begins Next Week, as PC Graphics Options Leak

Ubisoft has announced the beta schedule for its upcoming title "Tom Clancy's The Division." Meanwhile, the game's PC graphics options were leaked by one player.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" beta

Ubisoft announced last week that "Tom Clancy's The Division's" closed beta will start next week. Xbox One owners will be able to access the beta a day ahead of other players on Thursday, Jan. 28. After 24 hours, on Jan. 29, PS4 and PC players will have their turn at exploring the streets of a New York City borough.

The closed beta will have Manhattan's Chelsea Pier as the starting point. Participating players will then take on story-driven missions throughout New York.

A PvP-enabled Dark Zone will also be open. The Dark Zone is a quarantine zone located in the heart of Manhattan that has been walled off to stop the spread of a virus. In this zone, players can team up and battle other teams for loot.

"Tom Clancy's The Division's" closed beta ends on Jan. 31. Interested players can sign up on the waitlist, but those who pre-order the game will have guaranteed access. Ubisoft also clarified that the beta is open to Xbox One and PS4 players who do not have an Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus membership.

In addition to having the opportunity to play the game prior to launch and provide feedback, beta participants will also be receiving special in-game rewards as a thank you gift from Ubisoft. The rewards can be unlocked when the game releases.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" PC graphics options

A preview of the upcoming beta was reportedly leaked by one PC player, according to a report by PC Gamer. A NeoGAF member uploaded a video and listed the video options for the game's PC version on Saturday.

The video has since been taken down by Ubisoft, but it supposedly contained footage of "Tom Clancy's The Division" PC beta in low settings, at 55-56 fps in the city, a GTX 650 TI 1GB GPU, 8 GB memory, and an Intel Core i5 clocking in at 3.1 GHz.

Here are the PC version video options:
Vsync (on/off)
Frame Rate Limit (on/off)
Shadow Quality
Shadow Resolution
Spot Shadow Count
Spot Shadow Resolution
Contact Shadows
Post FX AA
Temporal AA
Sharpen Image (%)

Enable Wind-Affected Snow
Volumetric Fog

Sub-Surface Scattering
Anisotropic Filtering
Parallax Mapping
Ambient Occlusion
Depth of Field
Object Detail (%)
Extra Streaming Distance (%)
Chromatic Aberration (on/off)

Vignette Effect (on/off)

PC Gamer notes that the leak means good news for players with a modest hardware; however, the gameplay video was too short to determine how the low setting holds up during moment-to-moment gameplay.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" releases worldwide on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 8.
