'Tom Clancy's The Division' Update 1.6 Patch News: Last Stand DLC Underwhelms Fans; Xbox Support Gets Hands Dirty

Ubisoft Entertainment's online third-person shooter title "Tom Clancy's The Division" launches its 1.6 patch, which brings a large amount of content into the game. Unfortunately, things went a bit rough during its implementation and continued to go downhill.

The update 1.6 activates the third expansion, the Last Stand downloadable content (DLC). This mode pits players in an eight vs. eight player-versus-player (PvP) combat, in which the objective is to control three key tactical locations on one of 4 Dark Zone maps. It also brings a new incursion named Stolen Signal, in which a civilian TV Broadcast center is taken over by the infamous Rikers gang, forcing players to use advanced tactics.

For those who did not get the Last Stand DLC via Season Pass, the said update still brings something worthwhile. It allows access to three new areas via Dark Zone where more powerful enemies hide. Leaderboards also give hype to the Dark Zone by tallying player scores weekly and monthly, and those in the top spots get sweet rewards.

More fixes and patches are implemented through the update 1.6. From revive time in combat to gear stat adjustments, there is a big overhaul done to balance out the playing field.

Despite everything sounding really enticing, server issues caused players to get frustrated. What was initially expected to be done in 90 minutes persisted longer, with the PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PC platforms getting resolution first before the Xbox One consoles.

Everything should have been well and good after the servers were already up, yet finally experiencing the Last Stand DLC got fans feeling bitter, saying it was underwhelming. While there are those who find it okay, more players were unimpressed.

While everything went haywire, Xbox Support showed that they are listening to the fans by responding immediately and even proactively checking Xbox One players. The team was all over the place helping them out until matters got ironed out.

In the end, most gamers found positive outcome of the patch. PC players in particular see that the load times have become faster and the graphics are enhanced, making it ultimately a win.
