Tom Cruise House-Hunting in New York After Divorce for Super 'Private' Residence
Tom Cruise is house-hunting in New York so that he can be closer to his six year old daughter Suri, according to new reports. Cruise is allegedly planning to locate away from California to be near estranged wife Katie Holmes and Suri in Manhattan, New York.
In June news emerged of a shocking split between the couple when Holmes filed for divorce when Cruise was away filming his latest film in Iceland. Cruise was said to be stunned by the news. It was soon found out that Holmes had been planning the split meticulously, with every detail of how she would move away from Cruise planned out ahead of time.
A super fast divorce settlement was agreed upon between the ex-couple's lawyers, which agreed that Holmes would win primary custody of daughter Suri, with Cruise being given visitation rights.

Cruise now reportedly is hoping to set up a location in New York so that his access to Suri can run smoothly and he can spend time with her without disrupting her life too much.
"Tom's looking for a new home here. He wants a fresh start. He doesn't want to go back to the East Village apartment where he was living with Katie," a source close to the situation has said, according to the New York Post.
"He's looking for something that's very private where he won't have to deal with going through a lobby, and people outside all the time," the source added.
Another source, described as a friend of Cruise, also has told the NY Post: "He also wants to have a nice amount of space for Suri, with outdoor space. That could mean high-end luxury apartments, but he's also looking at houses outside of the city or in gated communities."
The details of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' divorce settlement were kept private, but it appears as though Holmes has registered Suri in a top Catholic school in Manhattan as opposed to a Scientology school, which Cruise reportedly had wanted Suri to attend in the past.
