'Tomorrowland' Plot Leaks Ahead of Its Release Date
"Tomorrowland" is a movie based on the "themed land" in Disney theme parks, and tells the story of a scientifically curious teen and a former boy-genius inventor.Bound by the shared interests and destinies, the two embark on a dangerous mission of unearthing the secrets of a place that only exists in their collective memory as "Tomorrowland."
The film's synopsis was allegedly leaked and the said plotline is far different from the fan theories suggesting that the movie will have extraterrestrial activity. The leaked storyline, on the other hand reveals that "Tomorrowland" is about robots, interdimensional travel, saving the world and maybe even revenge.
Previously titled as "1952," Drew McWeeney gives detailed information about the film's storyline:
"A teenage girl, a genius middle-aged man (who was kicked out of Tomorrowland), and a prepubescent girl robot attempt to get to and unravel what happened to Tomorrowland, which exists in an alternative dimension, in order to save Earth," he said.
"The 'Tomorrowland' that they keep referring to in this break-down appears to be a place where science has blown past the word we live in, and when Frank Walker was a young man, he first encountered the promise of 'Tomorrowland' at the 1964 World's Fair. David Nix was there, showing off his own work, and he told Walker to come back when he was older and his inventions actually worked. A girl named, Athena saw great promise in the 11-year-old Frank and she snuck him into 'Tomorrowland.' Eventually, Frank was discovered by Nix and thrown out, but not before learning that the girl he loved, Athena, was actually a robot."
Director Brad Bird was first tapped to direct the upcoming "Star Wars Episode VII" film, but he declined the offer because he wanted to do an original film like "Tomorrowland."
"There was no way to make that schedule and give ['Tomorrowland'] the attention it deserved,"he said. "It's rare to do a film of size that's original, so those opportunities can't be missed either."
Stars George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, and Tim McGraw.
"Tomorrowland" is set for release on May 22, 2015.
