Tony Danza Book About Teaching Public School Makes Waves
Tony Danza has earned praise after the release his new book this week, "I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had."
The 61-year-old actor detailed his experience as a first-year teacher at Northeast High, Philadelphia's largest high school, in the new book. Danza taught 10th-grade English at the school, which holds 3,600 students.
Best known for his role on television series "Who's the Boss?" as well as "The Tony Danza Show," Danza's book features fascinating portraits of the students and teachers he worked with at Northeast High. He covers relevant topics such as keeping up with ever-changing technology and more importantly, engaging students who are often distracted by the digital offerings.

"A surprisingly poignant account, 'I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had' is sometimes laugh-out-loud funny but it mostly filled with hard-won wisdom and feel-good tears," reads the book's description on Amazon.com.
On Twitter, Danza informed his fans of the release.
"Hey, everyone," the actor wrote on his account. "My book comes out this week. Think you'll want to apologize to every teacher you've had after reading!"
The release of his new book arrives just days after Danza faced false rumors of his death. He became one of several celebrities that have fallen victim to death hoaxes involving a made-up story about falling off cliffs in New Zealand.
One website which perpetuated misinformation claimed that Danza died on Sept. 10.
"Actor Tony Danza died while filming a movie in New Zealand early this morning- Sept 10, 2012 Preliminary Reports from New Zealand Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on-set," read the unreliable source.
Danza is in fact alive, and appeared on the "Today" show Monday as well as guest-hosted on "The View" to promote his new book. Also, the actor will visit Ursinus College this Saturday for a book signing.
The actor was nominated for an Emmy Award and four Golden Globe Awards for his role on the television series "Who's the Boss?" and won the People's Choice Award for the sitcom "The Tony Danza Show" in 1998. He also appeared on the TV series "Taxi" as well as films "Angels in the Outfield" and "Crash."
