Tony Picard, Football Player is 6'4" and 400 Lbs in High School: 'Biggest Running Back' Ever (VIDEO)
Tony Picard, a football player for White Swan High School, has made history as one of the biggest running backs ever to play at 6 feet, 4 inches and 400 lbs. The senior, who goes by "Big Tone," has a video on YouTube that has gone viral, putting the small Yakama Indian Reservation in Washington State on the map.
Tony Picard's football positions are running back and nose guard, which he fills well because most of his defenders are half his size. Big Tone, who is Umatilla-Nez Perce Indian and Sioux Indian, has over 700 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, according to Fox News.
"It's so much fun to have him go out [on the field] as a captain and see him shaking hands before the game," White Swan coach Andrew Bush told Indian Country Today Media Network. "They're kind of just staring, like 'Oh my gosh, you've got to be kidding me!'"
How the White Swan Cougars take advantage of Picard's size is evident in the videos— Big Tone usually mows down four or five defenders before being taken down or is used as a distraction while another teammate carries the ball. Picard will graduate soon, and he is ready to take his skills to the next level.
"I want to play college football it is my dream. I hope I can go to the next level," he told the North West Prep Report. "People say that (I'm too big) but I try not to let it get to me."
His highlight video has gone viral, racking up 1.3 million views in just two days. The publicity is paying off, as Picard revealed he has been talking to college scouts already.
"Football is a way of life for me, it's in my blood and it takes quite a few to bring me down," Tone said. Though he primarily clears the way for others to score, he still rushes for an average of 100 yards a game.
Still, size doesn't always equal success: the Cougars lost to the Colfax Bulldogs Saturday 22-14.
