'Top Chef' Season 13 Episode 8 Spoilers: Only Nine Contestants Remain in the Battle to Be the Next 'Top Chef'
With Jason Stratton finally out last episode, the competition is now just down to nine chefs who will battle it out to be season 13's "Top Chef."
According to Bravo TV, the chefs will have to face the ultimate plating challenge in the next episode. The nine contestants must prepare a plate using snack food, and present the most beautiful and appealing dish. The plates will then be photographed and uploaded to Bravo TV's Instagram account, and the winner of the challenge will be determined by the number of likes each plate receives.
After the Quickfire Challenge, the remaining contestants will have to cook for a black-tie event, and after the event, the judges, Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons, Emeril Lagasse, and Richard Blais, will then decide who's going home.
TV Guide posted a synopsis of the upcoming episode, which is titled "Where's the Beef?" and the summary reads, "The chefs participate in a plating challenge by preparing visually appealing dishes using only snack food. Then, they cook for diners at a black-tie, finger-food event called Beefsteak. Appearing: Colin Hanks; Max Silvestri; Matt Selman; Jacques La Merde; and Neal Fraser."
Meanwhile, Jason, the last chef that went home, spoke with She Knows, and he shared his experiences while on the show. According to the chef, his elimination was not a surprise to him since he admits he "under-seasoned" his dish. "I bet all the cooks that have worked with me were pretty gobsmacked that it was a light hand with salt that got me booted. I tend to ride the line of highly seasoned. I love salt and acid," he shared.
When asked who he thinks will be the winner this season, Jason said that he wants Karen Akunowicz to win. "I really love Karen. You can tell that she's good people by the way she speaks so highly of her staff — a thing that is way too often overlooked in this industry," Jason said.
