'Total War: Warhammer 2' Set for PC This Year

Sega and Creative Assembly have made official "Total War: Warhammer 2," the sequel to the hit game released last year, with a cinematic trailer.

The collaborators revealed that one of the new things to expect in the upcoming game is the "breathtaking" narrative campaign. Since it is a sequel, there will be new maps and playable races to be introduced as well.

"In a Total War campaign like no other, players will struggle for over the ailing Great Vortex that has swirled for millennia above the elven homeland dominion of Ulthuan," they revealed.

"Performing a series of arcane rituals, each race must save or disrupt the Vortex according to their motivations — a struggle culminating in a cataclysmic endgame," they went on to say.

"Total War: Warhammer 2" will feature four playable races, namely High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen and a fourth race yet to be revealed. Each will have two Legendary lords.

Of course, these races will have unique characteristics and will offer gameplay that distinguishes them from the rest such as unique and iconic battlefield units, characters, monsters, war machines and tactical strengths on the battlefield.

"In campaign, each has its own suite of unique campaign mechanics built around its backstory and lore in Warhammer Fantasy Battles. In short, each race offers a very distinct way to play," Sega and Creative Assembly wrote.

Those who own a copy of the first "Total War: Warhammer" game and are planning to grab the sequel as well will get three huge campaign maps.

These maps include the Old World, which is the original, another one including the New World and the Vortex from "Total War: Warhammer 2" and a combined campaign map featuring both of those areas joined together.

The last one happens to be the first content release that owners of both games can experience. It is described as a "vast, combined campaign map representing the geographical areas of both games in a single map."

It should give "Total War: Warhammer 2" players the unique chance to "start epic campaigns as any owned race (including any DLC races you own)."
