'Total War: Warhammer' DLC Update, Latest News: Free Update Now Available; Sequel in the Works
Since its launch, The Creative Assembly and Sega's video game "Total War: WARHAMMER" has released an impressive lineup of free updates and premium donwloadable content (DLC). As of Tuesday, Feb. 28, its eighth playable race – Bretonnia – and the game's Old World Edition are now available.
In the video game, the Kingdom of Bretonnia is a feudal society built upon nobility and chivalry. According to report by GameSpot, the DLC also includes three new powerful Legendary Lords from Bretonnia, Bordeleaux and Carcassonne. The free update also comes with some new units and unique features.
The Bretonnia DLC offers a different experience in existing races since much of a player's success is based on how chivalrous that gamer's actions are. Winning tough battles and completing quests will fill a gamer's chivalry meter, which in turn will keep society's peasants under control and earn a gamer's unit bonus experience.
If players are able to keep their chivalry points high enough, they will be given access to a new endgame objective built around the Bretonnians called "The Errantry War."
The Old World Edition of "Total War: WARHAMMER," on the other hand, includes the original game and the Bretonnia Race pack.
Aside from the launching of the game's latest free DLC update and its Old World Edition, brand director Rob Bartholomew has recently announced that the sequel for "Total War: WARHAMMER" is currently in development.
"We want to make the most incredible fantasy trilogy possible," Bartholomew said. "And with Bretonnia, we're bringing our time in the Old World to a close. Production on the sequel to 'Total War: Warhammer' has been underway for some time already and is now a key focus for the studio. It's time to travel to new lands and discover new races," he added.
"Total War: WARHAMMER" is out now on PC. The Bretonnia Race DLC pack and the Old World Edition are also currently available.
