Tour Bus Crash Injures Dozens in Irwindale, California - All Victims Aged 60-80 (VIDEO, PHOTO)
A tour bus crash has injured 55 people who were traveling on their way to the San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino Thursday morning.
The charter bus crashed on the 210 Freeway in Irwindale, Calif. injuring dozens of people, although most suffering only minor injuries.
All the victims were aged between 60 and 80, and a number were taken to hospital for medical treatment after suffering more serious injuries.
The tour bus was reportedly operated by a company called Da Zuan, which is a Chinese-run tour bus operator, which is known for often providing transport for people to casinos.
Authorities have told reporters, "It's a little early to determine whether it was driver error. We are worried more about the injured people than the actual investigation itself."
The precise cause of the accident has still not been determined, however, one eye witness has explained to KNX News Radio that the bus swerved too far when it was merging. The eye witness said, "The tires locked up and then they swerved left again, and then it swerved right, and it looked like he was gonna get on the shoulder okay, but then he over-corrected and then it went over on its faster side into the dirt."
"There were elderly people stuck on top of the other. They were going about 70 miles an hour and got thrown onto each other. They were very quiet; I would say they were in shock," an eye witness described.
